There was pandemonium in Jeddo area of Warri, Delta State as a “dead” man woke up few minutes before getting buried
The “deceased” identified as Akpos was said to have been confirmed dead for about 7 hours, before being carried to the grave side dug for him to be buried.
Though Akpos s said to have died at 2a.m today and his grave was dug shortly after, his mom who insisted that her child who was about getting buried in Delta isn’t dead, begged for prayers which was held.
Shockingly, the man who woke from the dead after the casket for his burial arrived, and has since been taken to the hospital for medical examination.
It may be recalled that there was a viral report of one Himanshu Bharadwaj, who was declared dead after he was involved in a car crash, but woke up moments before his autopsy was performed. Bharadwaj narrowly avoided being cut up after spending the night in a morgue, when doctors realized he was still alive.
His family has hailed it as a miracle after the pathologist at a hospital in Nagpur, India, found a pulse just as he was picking up a blade to perform the autopsy. Himanshu was resuscitated and rushed to a different ward in the hospital after the error was realised.
Dr. Gedam of the Chhindwara District Hospital said the patient’s “respiration was dysfunctional” and his “pulse was also missing,” hence the erroneous conclusion that he had died.
Gedam added, “However, his respiratory organs began responding this morning.
“At times, in brain-dead patients, the heart and the respiratory system stop functioning transiently, which seems to be the case here.
“Himanshu is still brain dead. Thus, we have referred him to Nagpur due to lack of sufficient facilities locally.”
Meanwhile, a large crowd gathered outside the hospital to protest against the perceived negligence of the accident victim. There was also a report of a Nigerian man who recounted his ordeal, after declared dead and spending 3 days in the morgue.
